Launching his career as “head flagman” at the home office for the Canadian Hearing Society in 1979, Bill Tishler has taken this experience and expanded his skills through a 40-year long career. Over the years he has garnered industry-leading skills in concept design, strategy, and construction.
Most recently, Bill led the design and construction team at Cineplex Entertainment in Canada. At Cineplex, he worked for over 20 years as Vice President. Under his leadership, the team developed the Cineplex entertainment strategy. New brands and 84 new buildings have seen industry-leading success. A few of these brands include Famous Players, Alliance Atlantis Cinemas, Galaxy Cinemas, Cineplex & VIP, The Rec Room, Playdium, and Top Golf Canada.
When asked if he was the premier concept strategy, design & construction expert in the world, Bill replied: "If money was no object, there are many people in the world who can do this job. But when you take into consideration concept design/innovation, cost, ROI, scheduling, and quality of the finished product, my list of rivals diminishes quickly! “
After leaving Cineplex in July 2018 to start his new venture, At-Bat Consulting Group was hired to finish what Bill had started. To this day, Bill and his team continue to redesign the Canadian Top Golf concept, manage site plan applications, and roll out their Top Golf venues across the country. The redesign was since adopted by Top Golf as their international prototype.

They have designed and built community buildings throughout Toronto, including a school and a synagogue. Community “movie screening rooms” were purpose-built and became a focus at Cineplex. Movies continue to be played at the Baycrest Retirement & Alzheimer’s Center, San Romanoway at Jane and Finch, Halifax Hospital and elsewhere. Today, At-Bat and Cineplex have designed and are building a new ‘state of the art’ screening room/ media center at Ronald McDonald House in Toronto.
How will any concept, change or modification impact their client's design vision, budget/ROI and schedule?
